Modern Taos has became an artist Mecca where
people from all over the world come to visit and enjoy this enchanted
mountain valley.
You can spend your days strolling the quaint historic downtown district,
where the streets and alleyways are lined with many galleries, unique
upscale shops, boutiques, fine dining restaurants and cafes.
Tao's
galleries are most known for their unparralel creations of international and
local artesians, representing fine art in multi medias.
Bordered by the magnificent Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the east and the
high dessert plains to the west Taos has the flavor of both a high-mountain
valley with a southwestern flair.
Taos offers multiple other activities including Hiking, fishing, museums,
balloon rides and in the winter there is Nordic and downhill skiing and snow
mobiling. In the summer/autumn you can enjoy Indian Feast Days, hiking,
rafting, golfing, kayaking, horseback riding.
The original Taos Indian Pueblo along the river, can be toured daily.
Taos is covered with giant stately Cottonwood trees and multiple blooming
plants and flowers in the spring and summer creating a visual feast for the
eyes.
The fall foliage and winter snow covered peaks and skiing make Taos a
popular year round destination
