The Bucerias Wednesday market is now closed for the season. Thank you to all the wonderful vendors and customers who have made this an exceptionally popular and well attended part of our community calendar. Many of the participants have asked to move to the Friday market.
Friday Fusion artesan street market continues in Calle Laz Cardenas/Abasolo from 9am to 1pm with Aztec dancers performing at intervals during the day. Typical Mexican food is available and lots of arts and crafts, carpenters, glass blowers and more.
Celebrated jazz keyboardist and award winning composer Tom Coster will be performing at the Vallarta Yacht Club in Nuevo Vallarta on Monday April 21, 2014. During Tom's long and distinguished career he has played with some of the finest artist's in rock and jazz, including Carlos Santana, Vital Information, Gabor Szabo, Third Eye Blind and Loading Zone. This dinner concert will start with dinner at 6:00pm with Tom's performance starting immediately after the conclusion of dinner service. The evening Menu will be Lobster Bisque, Pork Medallions or Maui Maui, and a Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream. The concert will b open to the general public. Tickets for VYC members and their guests will be $425 pesos. Non member tickets will be $500 pesos. The highly successful Bucerias Farmers Market had its new season opening on Wed 23rd at Rosa Mexicano restaurant on Lazaro Cardenas #90B. This week promises to be even better with new food vendors and master craftsmen coming along to show their talents and wares. Open from 9am to 1pm with bar opening from 10am for coffee,cocktails and beer! PLUS 15% discount on meals at the restaurant in the evenings if you collect the ticket from any vendor. No purchase necessary. A great breakfast is being served at Encore too (right across the street) in case you want to really "pig out". The Tercera Edad ladies will be selling their organic papayas alongside the library selling their beautiful calendars. This week there will be granola, honey, Royal jelly, Greek Yogurt, Bagels and Pastrami, English pies and pasties, smoked meat and fish, coconut, jams and jellies, salsas, chilaquiles, agua fresca, nuts and candies, french patisserie, Argentinian empanadas, cinnamon buns and scones, Indian samosas and a whole lot more. The Oaxacan artesans are back too, just get ready for the blaze of color Oxnards have the most incredible new range of body creams and scrubs and soaps formulated for this climate and ideal for you to gift to your loved ones this holiday season. Cigars and flavored tequilas sit alongside home made ice cream and freshly roasted and ground coffee bagged and ready to take home. The Italian Bakery will be joining us this week too. THE 3rd ANNUAL WHALE WATCHING FUND RAISER for THE JOHN OZZELLO MEMORIAL FOOD BANK
The John Ozzello Memorial Food Bank is hosting a major fund raiser again this year to help get us through the low season. For only $600 peso, you can enjoy a day of Whale Watching as well as helping to support the local food bank. The boat we have chartered for this is the SHAMBALLA which is a double decker catamaran. The boat will be leaving the Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta at 9:00am and will be returning at around 4:00pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Included in this fund raiser is: whale watching, snorkeling, continental breakfast, open bar, and lunch. There will also be a raffle on-board with many wonderful prizes! It was a huge success last year and we hope to have as many excellent prizes this year. Not only will you have an enjoyable and memorable experience, you will also be helping to feed the needy in our area. It's a win, win situation! New restaurant in Bucerias called "Chin-Gon" at 108 Lazaro Cardenas.. (The old Oasis sports bar) They are serving Thai and other Asian flavors and are open Tuesday till Sunday from 3 till 9. It is mainly to go items, but they do have seating there as well.. Some of the items are Pad Thai, Thai coconut curried chicken, and Beef and black beans with soba noodles. Sixth Annual Beta Sigma Phi Wine and Cheese Benefit to raise funds for "Operation Warmth". This special event helps provide blankets and warm clothing for our neighbors in need. The Beta Sigma Phi Wine and Cheese Benefit will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 7-10:00pm, at La Vida, on Lazaro Cardenas in Bucerias. The $300 peso ticket includes a door prize, a wonderful selection of hors d'oeuvres, as well as 3 drink tickets for wine, beer and music. They will have a lot of great raffle prizes also!
