The students at the Bucerias Bilingual Community Center range in age from pre school to high school level. They are learning to speak English through many innovative fun techniques. Here is a group holding flash cards representing an emotion.

During our photographic documentation, we observed no one wanted the "sad card". They are enthusiastic and happy about learning another language that will enable them to gain better employment as adults, enabling them to make far beyond the normal daily wage of 50 pesos.

More and more of the neighborhood children are participating; as they see there friends learning, they choose to join in.

It costs as little as a dollar a class per child, but even with only two weekly classes, this cost is more than most of the Bucerias families can bear, especially for those families who wish to send more than one of their children.

Bilingual School Diplomas

You can help by sponsoring one of these Bucerias children for as little as, $8 a week or $32. a month.
